About Myth & Verity, Inc.
myth: a traditional story of historical events that serves to unfold part of the world view of a people.
verity: the quality or state of being true or real — especially a fundamental and inevitably true value.
Myth & Verity, Inc. was founded in January, 2021 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts while Jennifer Snow was pursuing her MFA in Writing, Literature, and Publishing at Emerson College. We moved to Sacramento, California in June, 2024, and to Roseville, California in December, 2024. We are proudly trans-owned and LGBTQ+ staffed.
We take pride in developing strong, long-lasting relationships with our authors through a professional and respectful approach to your work and your overall vision. Each member of our team bears an overall desire for providing easy-to-access editorial services to minority and historically under-represented authors and communities. We work with manuscripts in the young adult, new adult, and adult genres, and all subgenres within science fiction and fantasy, and are here to help support authors from concept to publication. Our goal is to illuminate emerging voices by combining our knowledge of story and craft with a deep attention to detail, while providing a welcoming space for authors of all backgrounds and experience levels. When you work with an editor at Myth & Verity, you are a partner. We will work with you to elevate your language while ensuring your unique voice remains intact.
While we do specialize in science fiction and fantasy, we are also extremely fond of LGBTQ+ literature. We are especially interested in works of creative non-fiction, poetry, contemporary fiction, and historical fiction. Manuscripts and poetry with a focus on progressive values and social justice themes are also particularly welcome.
Client Testimonials
Friendly, Clear, Actionable Guidance
Jen’s counsel throughout my journey as a creative writer has been invaluable. Her grammatical expertise is second to none. Even after I have perfected a piece to the best of my ability, I know that if I send a draft to Jen, she will undoubtedly catch some small typo that I managed to overlook. Her attention to detail is a product of her meticulous nature, but it is only a fraction of what she is capable of. In addition to having a keen eye for detail, she is highly skilled at helping to improve syntax and diction. If there is a sentence or a paragraph or even just a word in your writing that you are not sure about, Jen will give you either the reassurance or the constructive advice you need. Her technical skill has helped to me improve my writing and become more confident in my capability as a writer.
Best of all is her ability to ask the right questions. Sometimes it’s easy to lose focus in the writing process and leave something too vague or abstract, especially in a creative piece, but Jen has knack for steering people onto the right path and providing clarity. Her guidance has helped shape many of pieces from directionless prose into fully-realized stories.

An Enlightening Experience
My experience with Jen from Myth & Verity was nothing short of transformative. I was treated respectfully, as a creator, from the start. My project was taken seriously and given the full attention of the editorial staff. Jen applied both the technical proficiency and creative empathy towards transforming my development of a very brief treatment and dialog sample into a cohesive, extended narrative. I found the suggestions she offered regarding structure and pacing, as well as character notes, insightful and useful. I am confident that the quality, and marketability, of the finished product can only have been elevated through Jen’s, and Myth & Verity’s, services.
