Meet Our Team
Jennifer "JJ" Snow
Founder and Chief Editor
jennifer.snow@mythandverity.com
Her mother read Moby Dick and other classics to her when Jennifer was a mere toddler, and that action instilled a deep love of language within. For as long as she can remember, Jennifer (referred to as “JJ” by her friends and loved ones) has enjoyed the wanderlust that comes with each new novel she picks up.
Now, she fulfills her fervor for story and language not only by diving into a novel, but in writing and helping others reach their full potential with their own writing. She started Myth & Verity in central Massachusetts in 2021 with the goal of providing affordable editing services to the LGBTQ+ community and other under-represented authors, and that goal has remained constant through her move to northern California.
When she’s not writing or editing, you can find JJ falling in love with another novel or tutoring college students in English or early STEM subjects.
Hannah Orlando
Lead Editor
hannah.orlando@mythandverity.com
Maybe one of the first indicators of Hannah’s lifelong connection with literature should have been when her parents came home late to find her reading into the night. Her mother’s question still circles through her mind, “How do you punish a child who’s stayed up late to read?” Even through today, Hannah is looking to read and find herself in the next queer novel and remember that no one is ever truly alone in the world.
Editorial support is just one aspect in making sure that the readers of tomorrow will have stories that resonate with them. Hannah found that her path in life doesn’t run just in telling her own story, but helping others tell theirs. Using her publishing and poetry experience with fiction authors gives Hannah a unique perspective within the editorial process. There’s more to literature than just words on the page.
Outside of her professional life, Hannah’s young family occupies most of her time with a toddler or fluffy friends nearby. She finds moments for her own writing and reading whenever she can, often on the floor—perhaps because the couch is full or maybe she’s just comfortable..
